A pair of George III mahogany and parcel-gilt pier tables, circa 1775.

The table tops have interlaced mosaic panels each enclosing specimens of different forms of volcanic lava, within a Siena moulded marbled edge; the frieze carved with classical oval paterae.

On turned tapered reeded legs, headed by gilt lion masks and on lion’s paw feet with leaf and husk carved collars, 84cm x 132cm x 59cm.
