A pair of George III mahogany and parcel-gilt pier tables, circa 1775.

The table tops have interlaced mosaic panels each enclosing specimens of different forms of volcanic lava, within a Siena moulded marbled edge, the frieze carved with classical oval paterae and on turned tapered reeded legs, headed by gilt lion masks and on lion’s paw feet with leaf and husk carved collars, 84cm x 132cm x 59cm.
