Two sets of Victorian silver-gilt dessert knives and forks, 1838 & 1839.

Each set comprises six knives and six forks and each sits within a fitted leather case.

The blades and tines are scroll-engraved, the bolsters engraved with game and birds.

Each item has a porcelain handle beautifully painted with different hunting scenes, edged with insects and flowers, probably from the Paris factory.

They carry the mark of Charles Rawlings and William Summers of London.
