Capanna Senese was mentioned by Vasari as a friend of the painter and architect Baldassarre Peruzzi (1481-1536) and the co-author, with Domenico Pecori (c1480-c1527), of the ‘Marinelli’ altarpiece in the Cathedral of Arezzo.
The altarpiece is now in the town’s museum.
