The Insignia of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, 19th Century.

The insignia comprises: a Lesser George, or sash badge in gold and enamels, a breast star, two embroidered garters, one pale blue, the other dark blue and a sash.

These were presented to the Rt. Hon. Brownlow, 2nd Marquess of Exeter (1795-1867), who was nominated KG on 10th March, 1827.

The pale blue garter and the sash were not exhibited in The Victorians at Burghley exhibition.
