Wilfrid Wood was an engraver and watercolourist who specialised in urban landscapes of English towns. Born in Manchester, he lived in London until 1937 when he and his wife settled in the village of Barnack. Thereafter, he recorded street scenes in and around Stamford, several of which were purchased by Myra, 5th Marchioness of Exeter. The Dairy Farm lies within Burghley Park across the lake from the House.
