The Alba Madonna, after Raphael (1483-1520).

Tempera on canvas, circular, diameter 36cm.

The original of this work was painted by Raphael in about 1511 and acquired its name after spending the 18th Century in the possession of the Spanish Dukes of Alba.

From the early 19th to the early 20th Century it was in The Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg and is now in the National Gallery of Art in Washington.
