The painting was presented to Lord Exeter by members and followers of the Burghley Foxhounds at the last Burghley meet.
He is seen mounted, with the south west aspect of Burghley in the background.
Peter Biegel was born into a family which immersed itself in country sports.
With a natural artistic talent, he found an early career in the family business not to his taste and when the business collapsed, he decided to study equine art.
He was to become one of the finest sporting artists of his day.
