The Hon. Bridget Noel (died 1729), was the daughter of the 3rd Viscount Campden and Elizabeth Bertie of Exton Hall, Rutland.
The Noels, Berties and Cecils were close friends; Bridget being mentioned in the will of John Cecil, 5th Earl of Exeter (1648-1700) as a ‘noble friend’ to whom he left a bequest.
Willem Wissing arrived in England from Holland in 1676 to study under Sir Peter Lely (1618-1680).
He was an immensely talented artist whose exceptionally promising career was cut short when he died aged only thirty-one, whilst painting at Burghley.
