Lady Sophia (1809-1902), was the wife of Lord Thomas Cecil (1797-1873), the younger brother of Brownlow, 2nd Marquess of Exeter (1795-1867).
The artist William Egley received no professional training, but exhibited widely throughout his life, including at the Royal Academy. He was considered to be particularly successful in his portrayal of children.
