A Miniature of Lady Dorothy Neville, English School, circa 1750.

Oval, on ivory, in a gilt-metal frame, 4.5cm.

Although the sitter has the same name as the first wife of Thomas, 1st Earl of Exeter (1542-1622), there is no record of a close connection with the Nevilles more than a century later and Lady Dorothy may simply have been a friend of the family.
