Lady Anne Cecil, daughter of William, 2nd Earl of Salisbury (1591-1668), After Sir Anthony van Dyck (1599-1641).

Oil on canvas.

Lady Anne Cecil (1612-1637), was the first wife of Algernon, Percy, 10th Earl of Northumberland and the sister of Elizabeth, Countess of Devonshire, whose enormous bequest of 1690 to her daughter Anne, Countess of Exeter, so enriched the Burghley Collections. The portrait is a copy of the figure of the Countess taken from van Dyck’s double portrait of her with her husband, which is at Petworth House, West Sussex.
