Oil on canvas.
Lady Anne Cecil (1612-1637), was the first wife of Algernon Percy, 10th Earl of Northumberland (1602-1668).
She was also the older sister of Elizabeth, Countess of Devonshire (1619-1689), whose enormous bequest of 1690 to her daughter Anne, Countess of Exeter (1648-1700), so enriched the Burghley Collections.
The portrait is a copy of the figure of the countess taken from van Dyck’s double portrait of her with her husband, which is at Petworth House, West Sussex.
