David George Brownlow Cecil, (1905 –1981), was styled Lord Burghley before 1956 and also known as David Burghley.
From 1956, he bore the title of the 6th Marquess of Exeter, KCMG.
He was educated at Ludgrove Preparatory school, Eton College, Institut la Rosey in Switzerland and Magdalene College, Cambridge.
