The Marriage of Ruth and Boaz, attributed to Ciro Ferri (1634-1689).

Oil on canvas, 63.5cm by 51cm. The painting is unfinished.

Whilst presently attributed to Ciro Ferri, Nicholas Turner has suggested that it may be an unfinished sketch by the eminent artist and architect Pietro da Cortona (1596–1669), of whom Ferri was a pupil.

He also suggests that the subject is ‘The Marriage of Jacob and Rachel.’
