An ovoid jar, Chinese, Kangxi (1662-1722).

The blue souffle ground is decorated with three reserves.

The first is of barbed form, painted with a peacock and song birds among flowering tree peony.

The second, a circular reserve, is painted with archaic bronze vessels, vases and auspicious emblems.

The third, a rectangular panel, is painted with mounted pilgrims and an attendant traversing mountainous terrain with typical blazed rocks.

The short unglazed neck is encircled by a floral band, height 22cm.
