An opaque blue glass snuff bottle, Chinese, 1780-1850.

The dark blue body of the elongated bottle is suffused with swirls of cinnabar red, white and yellow, 6.9cm.

The shape of glass snuff bottles known to date from the 18th Century tends to be rounded with the size fairly small.

The rather more clumsy shape of this bottle points to a slightly later dating.

Attributed to Beijing.
