An ivory carved snuff bottle, Chinese, Qianlong (1736-1795).

The bottle is carved to depict a continuous legendary subject, with figures in a pavilion and on a hump-backed bridge and with a matching stopper.

The base is incised with the four character seal mark Qianlong nianzhi, which translates as made in the Qianlong period, within a double square, 6.3cm.
