An ivory carved snuff bottle, 1820-1880.

The bottle is intricately carved and enamelled with a continuous scene depicting figures in a pavilion watching a boat pass by on a raging torrent, whilst a donkey is being led along the towpath to one side; the reverse has a figure on horseback watched from above by a lady in a pavilion, matching stopper, 8cm.
