A woolwork still-life, by Anne Wentworth, late 18th or early 19th Century.

A poppy is depicted in a blue and white vase with peaches next to it. The still-life was worked by Anne Wentworth, Countess Fitzwilliam of Northborough.

The 1763 Burghley Inventory records, in a later hand:.. ‘Breakfast room…..Peaches & Poppy work’d by Dow. Lady Fitzwilliam.’ 39cm by 33cm.
