A white glazed Korean bottle, first half 17th Century.

The bottle, of plain bladder form, with a gilt-metal mounted rim, appears in an inventory at Burghley known as the 1690 Devonshire Schedule.

This recorded an immense bequest from Elizabeth, Countess of Devonshire (1619-1689), to her only daughter Anne, Countess of Exeter (1649-1703), and encompassed the entire contents of her suite of private apartments at Chatsworth.
