A Victorian steel and brass spit mechanism, by Bentham and Sons of London.

With brass urn finials and motor turned steel spit, together with a steel spit holder and a collection of spits, 229cm wide, 114cm high.

Bentham and Sons supplied a range of kitchen equipment to Burghley during the early Victorian period; particularly ovens and warming ovens.
