A Victorian painted and parcel-gilt chaise-longue, circa 1840.

With scroll end and half back raised on cherub supports with leaf-carved apron and turned legs, 173cm long.

The chaise-longue was part of a suite of furniture supplied by G.I. Morant of New Bond St. in preparation for the three day visit of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1844.
