A vase-shaped two-handled cup and cover, Wakeley & Wheeler, London, 1899.

In George III style, the cup is applied with festoons, arabesques, stiff leaves and loop handles.

It has a spreading base and capstan cover, height 44.5cm.

The origins of the firm of silversmiths which became known as Wakeley and Wheeler in 1909 go back to 1791.

The business was acquired by Padgett and Braham Ltd. in 1957.
