The group, which is 24.2cm. in height, is modelled as a youth presenting a dove to a maiden who is holding an open bird cage. They are set before a flowering tree, with a recumbent hound at their feet. Porcelain was made at a factory in Tournai, Belgium, from about the mid 18th Century until the mid 19th Century.
