A silver-gilt mounted rock crystal tankard, probably English, mid 17th Century.

The lid, handle and foot of this small tankard are applied with elaborate silver-gilt filigree scrollwork, 9.8cm high.
The 1690 Devonshire Schedul, a large bequest from Elizabeth, Countess od Devonshire to her daughter Anne, Countess of Exeter records under: ‘Christalls Garnisht and plaine’:… ‘A small Christall fflagon sett togeather with silver philligrin guilt’.
