These elegant sugar vases, of rococo baluster form, are finely chased throughout, including shells at the shoulders.
Scrolled handles support two sugar sifters and a cream ladle; the covers surmounted by strawberry finials.
The vases are engraved with the Cecil crest below an earl’s coronet.
An identical set of three sugar vases in the Burghley Collection, also by Wakelin, is dated 1753, (SIL04754).
