A set of George III oval silver soup tureens, covers and stands, John Parker & Edward Wakelin, London, 1769.

The tureens decorated with quilted fluting and reed and tie borders with scroll foliage handles at the ends and four scroll feet, the covers with reeded ring handles, the two handled shaped oval stands with reeded borders and decorated with foliage at intervals and engraved with a coat-of-arms, with liners, overall width 47.9cm, with four soup ladles with shell bowls and shaped tops chased with foliage.

The arms are those of Cecil impaling Townshend for Brownlow, 9th Earl of Exeter who married in 1749 Letitia, daughter and heir of the Hon. Horatio Townshend.
