The bottle is of natural pebble form.
The agate body has green, russet and white inclusions which have been carved to depict two storks perched within a pine tree and with a prunus to one side, 6cm.
The skill of the carver in making use of the different layers of colour in the stone is outstanding, even to the eyes of the birds which are also rendered in differing, naturally occurring colour.
Several almost identical bottles are known and these clearly all emanate from the same workshop.
