This portrait, thought in the past to be of Rembrandt’s mother, may be by Thomas Worlidge (1700-1766) who was born in Peterborough and noted for his etched and painted imitations of Rembrandt. It was left to the 9th Earl by Mrs. Wilkinson according to a label on the reverse: “For the Earl of Exeter Left him by Mrs Jane Wilkinson.” It is a pair to PIC129
