A pair of Victorian painted and parcel-gilt bedside cupboards, circa 1840.

With rectangular white marble tops, the doors pierced with leaves and flanked by Solomonic columns, stamped G.I. MORANT, 91 New Bond St beneath the marble slabs, 83cm by 57cm.

The bedside cupboards were part of a suite of furniture supplied by G.I. Morant in preparation for the three day visit of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1844.
