Of wide campana form, each bowl is lightly incised with lotus meander and supported on a tall spreading foot. The interior and base have a bluish white glaze and the rim and foot are fitted with silver-gilt mounts. They are 5.5cm in height. The 1690 Devonshire Schedule, an enormous bequest to Anne, Countess of Exeter from her mother Elizabeth, Countess of Devonshire records: “A pair of Blue Cups with White within ffoot and Rimm garnisht” under “Lesser China garnisht with silver Guilt”.
