A pair of small blue and white Rollwagon sleeve vases, Chinese Transitional, circa 1650/60.

Each vase is boldly painted with birds among flowering peony, below a collar of flattened scrolls.

The short waisted neck has an iron oxide dressed rim, and each is supported on a slightly concave unglazed base, 19cm high.

The term rollwagon refers to a cylindrical vase surmounted by a constricted neck.
