A pair of lobed saucer dishes, Japanese, mid/late 17th Century.

The centre of each dish is painted in the Kakiemon palette with the “The Three Friends of Winter”, prunus, pine and bamboo, within a double red circle.

The border is decorated with tree peony emerging from amongst rocks.

The five lobed rims are moulded with a narrow band of entwined basketwork and a ropework rim, 22cm in diameter.
