A pair of lobed saucer dishes, late 17th Century.

The centre of each dish is painted in the Kakiemon palette with the “The Three Friends of Winter”, prunus, pine and bamboo, within a double red circle, and the border with tree peony emerging from amongst rocks. The five lobed rims are moulded with a narrow band of entwined basketwork, 3.4cm high, 22cm diameter.
