Each with a circular gadrooned platform, supported on acanthus leaf-carved triangular columnar stem and three S-scroll legs carved with acanthus leaves, 137cm high.
A possible attribution for the maker of these torchères is Jean Pelletier (active c. 1690-1710).
Two sets of torchères at Hampton Court can be attributed to him, for which the accounts survive.
There are also similar torchères at Ham House and in the Royal Collection that are known to be by Pelletier.
