Each with a circular gadrooned platform, supported on acanthus leaf-carved triangular columnar stem and three S-scroll legs carved with acanthus leaves, 137cm high.
A possible attribution for the maker of these torchères is Jean Pelletier (active c. 1690-1710). Two sets of torchères at Hampton Court can be attributed to him; the accounts survive. There are also similar torchères at Ham House and in the Royal Collection that are known to be by Pelletier.
