A pair of Kakiemon teabowls and trembleuse saucers, 18th Century.

Decorated in typical palette, which includes cerulean, turquoise, iron-red, black and gold, the almost conical teabowl is painted with a bijin, a lady in the Court dress of the Kambun era (1661-1673), carrying a bouquet, whilst to her right, there are flowers and grasses rising from banded hedges. The interior has a blossoming plum branch and the saucer is painted with a bijin in the Court dress of the Heian era (794-1185), and with insects and flowers.
