A pair of Kakiemon vases and covers, Japanese, circa 1680/1700.

The shouldered oviform vases are painted in underglaze blue and Kakiemon enamels.

The main bodies are vigorously painted with chrysanthemums in all stages of development, from bud to full bloom, as are covers.

The shoulders are decorated in underglaze blue with three bands of chrysanthemum petals, overall height 26cm.
