A pair of imperial yellow glass snuff bottles, Chinese, 1720-1850.

These slender bottles, in an imperial yellow of a rich dark egg yolk colour are attributed to Beijing.

It is unusual to find snuff bottles in pairs, each 4.4cm.

Imperial yellow can vary from pale lemon yellow to a rich dark egg yolk colour, and as the term suggests, it was traditionally reserved strictly for imperial use.
