The cachepots, which are 36.5cm. in height are painted with classical figure subjects in oval panels within a tooled gilt frame reserved on a bleu céleste ground, decorated in gilding with oeil-de-perdrix. They appear in a Burghley Inventory of 1854: “Red Drawing Room. On the Book Cases…..Two Sevres Porcelaine Vases Blue mounted in Or Molu with Or Molu handles, under glass shades, bought 1823”.
