A pair of double-gourd blanc de chine ewers and covers, Chinese, second half 17th Century.

The vessels, of hexagonal shape, are moulded in two vertical sections and covered in an ivory glaze.

Each upper bulb is moulded with slightly recessed leaf-shaped panels of wave pattern.

The panels of the lower bulb have in addition Buddhist or Taoist emblems.

The plain hexagonal covers are each set with an onion finial, 12.5cm high.
