A porcelain snuff bottle, Chinese, 1830-1860.

The bottle is of pear shape, moulded in low relief and decorated with ‘famille-rose’ enamels to depict a scaly dragon chasing a ‘flaming pearl’ amidst cloud billows, 6cm.

It was made in Jingdezhen, the centre for the production of porcelain in China and the base is inscribed Guanyao neizai, meaning made within the official kiln.
