A moulded Arita dish, Japanese, circa 1650-70.

The centre of the dish is painted in underglaze blue, with asymmetrically placed bamboo stalks and leaves within a border of sixteen shallow-moulded wave motifs.

The base has a single spur and a square cartouche containing the fuku or good fortune mark, 21.4cm in diameter.
