A moulded and enamelled porcelain snuff bottle, Chinese, 1800-1850.

The bottle is moulded to depict the Eighteen Lohan on a turquoise wave ground and decorated with famille-rose enamels.

It has the mark of Qianlong (1736-1795) on the base.

A Lohan was someone who had achieved Enlightenment and was a true follower of Buddha.
