A moss agate snuff bottle Chinese, 1780-1880.

Moss agate is a type of dendritic chalcedony.

When the bottle was later painted on the inside, with fish swimming amongst mossy tendrils, the dendritic inclusions were used to suggest aquatic plants.

It is signed Ye Zhong-san and dated winter day 1912, 5.6cm.
