A miniature Arita teapot and cover, circa 1700.

The tiny teapot is of cuboid form, 5cm wide

It is delicately painted in underglaze blue and overglaze iron-red, yellow, bluish and yellowish green, black and gold.

Insects and two clumps of flowers and grasses are depicted below an undulating collar of chrysanthemum petals.

The straight neck is encircled by pointed leaves; the cover decorated with a kikumon, or chrysanthemum flowerhead.
