A Louis XV/XVI Transitional commode, circa 1770.

The commode has a fleur de pecher moulded marble top and two deep long drawers inlaid with a bureau plat, with a flower vase and a number of objects flanked by a pair of urns.

With stop-fluted rounded corners and sides inlaid with urns; on hipped cabriole legs ending in sabots, 88cm by 126cm.

In the manner of Jacques Birckle (1734-1803), who produced a large number of items of medium to high quality furniture in his Paris workshop.
