An early Victorian small rosewood writing desk, circa 1850.

The desk, in Louis XV style, is of serpentine outline with three frieze drawers, on cabriole legs, 73cm high, 100cm wide.

The 1867 Burghley Inventory records: ‘Blue Drawing room, A 3.9 x 2.0 tulip and kingwood table with 3 drawers, brass bound and mounted with ormolu, the top lined green leather.’
