A blue and white charger, London Delftware, dated 1745.

The charger is painted in cobalt blue with a view of the south front of Burghley House, with deer and trees in the foreground in a parkland setting; the date 1745 sits on the lower right of the rim, 43cm.

The charger, which depicts the south front of Burghley before the alterations carried out by Capability Brown three decades later, is one of only three known to exist with this particular scene.
