The chatelaine is cast with angels and masks and set with gemstones. It is probably Austro-Hungarian and is thought to have belonged to either Isabella, wife of Brownlow, 2nd Marquess of Exeter (1795-1867), or to their daughter-in-law Georgina, wife of William Alleyne, the future 3rd Marquess of Exeter (1825-1895).
