A lapis lazuli snuff bottle, Chinese, 1800-1900.

The flattened, shield-shaped bottle is incised on one side with a peony spray, and on the other with an inscription, 5.7cm.

Snuff bottles with this type of incised decoration, but usually in jade, exist in some numbers in boxed sets in the National Palace Museum, Taiwan.
