A Lakeland Scene with a Ferryboat, John Rathbone (1750-1807).

John Rathbone was born in Cheshire and worked as a landscape painter in Manchester, Preston and London, employing both oil and watercolour. He exhibited forty-eight landscapes at the Royal Academy of Art between 1785 and 1807. The painting is a pair to PIC292 and is on an oak panel.
