The bottle, of spade form, is carved from cinnabar lacquer with an overall stylised lotus scroll on a green diaper ground and with a matching stopper, 6.2cm.
The colour of cinnabar lacquer is obtained by mixing cinnabar (mercury), with the lacquer sap.
